Mrs. Rossi's True Rossiwood Story
My name is Lisa Rossi, and this school year marks my 32nd year as a teacher and my fifteenth year here at Bethke. When I was in elementary school I decided that I wanted to be a teacher! To make that dream come true I attended college at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Child Development. After getting married and moving to Fort Collins, Colorado I started my first job as an Assistant Director at a local preschool. It was then that I went back to school to study and get my Masters Degree in Elementary Education.
I started teaching for Poudre School District in 1987 when I helped open Werner Elementary teaching Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. After staying home 4 years to raise my children, I came back to Johnson Elementary teaching 3rd and 6th grade. Then in 2002 I left the classroom to grow my career in Educational Leadership. I worked in the curriculum department for three years and was the Assistant Principal at Eyestone Elementary for another three. While I enjoyed working in an administrative capacity, my heart was still in the classroom. When I heard that Ann Alfonso was going to be the principal of Bethke Elementary I couldn't think of anyone I would rather work for. So in the fall of 2008 I began teaching 5th grade at the BEST school in PSD. It was truly a dream come true and I am in teacher heaven.
When I'm not working I love spending time with my family. I have an amazing husband Mike and three children, Elizabeth 29, Christopher 32, and Cody 35. Cody is married to his beautiful wife Brittany and they had my grandson Camden Michael Rossi in January 2010 and my granddaughter Harlow Ella Rossi in January 2013. Elizabeth is married to my son in love Justin and they had my granddaughter, Hadley Ray born in July 2015 and my grandson Jax Michael in May of 2018, and in February of 2020 Miss Mila Grace blessed our presence. Being Nana is the best title this teacher has ever earned. Chris is a full time student at CSU, go RAMS, studying to become a Chemical Engineer, a full time server at Snooze and our fun loving bachelor.
I love to shop, spend time with friends, babysit my grandkids, work on my scrapbooks, travel and did I mention shopping!
